Nutella and Strawberry Pizza

Today I'm treating myself to this Nutella pizza, an easy dessert made with multigrain pizza dough and sliced fresh strawberries. I shape it into a heart so it looks adorable without any complicated decorating. It's meant for two, perfect to share fresh out of the oven for an afternoon treat or as a sweet finish to a special meal.

What I love most about this Nutella and strawberry pizza is the contrast between the rich chocolate-hazelnut spread and the fresh, juicy fruit. With just three ingredients and 22 minutes between prep and baking, you get a quick sweet bite without having to make a separate filling.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you need

  • 1 small ball of multigrain pizza dough
  • Nutella (or your favorite chocolate spread)
  • Strawberries

Step by step

Method

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 250ºC and place a small clay bowl filled with water on the floor of the oven.
  2. 2Dredge the dough lightly in flour or semolina and begin stretching it.
  3. 3Stretch the dough out on a sheet of parchment paper, shaping it into a heart and keeping the edges a little thicker.
  4. 4Prick the base all over with a fork so it doesn't puff up.
  5. 5Bake for 6–7 minutes.
  6. 6Remove from the oven and spread generously with Nutella.
  7. 7Slice the strawberries into heart shapes and arrange them over the Nutella.
  8. 8All done! Our NUTELLA AND STRAWBERRY PIZZA is ready.

Tips

  1. 1Bake directly on the bottom rack or floor of the oven so the base turns out crispy, just like in a pizza stone oven.
  2. 2Use top and bottom heat.
  3. 3Placing a small clay bowl with water in the oven creates steam, helping the crust stay crispy outside and tender inside.

Frequently asked questions

Can I replace Nutella with another chocolate spread?

Yes, feel free to use whatever cocoa or hazelnut spread you have at home, or even a homemade one. Just pick one that spreads easily over the warm crust.

How do I store leftover Nutella and strawberry pizza?

Once it has cooled, keep it in an airtight container in the fridge. I recommend eating it the next day at the latest, since the strawberries will release moisture and soften the crust.

Can this sweet pizza be made gluten-free?

Yes, just swap the multigrain dough for a certified gluten-free pizza dough and make sure your chocolate spread is gluten-free as well. Adjust the baking time according to the instructions on your dough.
