Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you need for this recipe

  • 400gr whole wheat fideuà noodles
  • 400gr squid tentacles
  • 200gr peeled king prawns
  • 1 onion
  • 1 small handful of peas, green beans, and carrots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Pink Himalayan salt
  • Ground cayenne pepper

Step by step

Instructions

  1. 1Wash and cut the squid tentacles, then add them to the paella pan so they release all their water.
  2. 2Once they run dry, add a light drizzle of oil and keep cooking so they leave all their tasty juices in the pan, then set aside.
  3. 3Sear the prawns and set them aside as well.
  4. 4Next, gently sauté the onion until soft and translucent.
  5. 5Once softened, add the vegetables and sauté everything well.
  6. 6Add the minced garlic and season to taste with salt and ground cayenne.
  7. 7Add the tomato paste and stir-fry.
  8. 8Finally, add the water, cooked tentacles, and prawns. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes, turn off the heat, adjust the salt, and let it rest for a couple of hours.
  9. 9In a skillet, add a light drizzle of oil and toast the noodles, then add them to the paella pan and cook for 2 minutes.
  10. 10Done! Our SQUID TENTACLE AND KING PRAWN FIDEUÀ is ready.

Extras

  1. 1You can add other vegetables.
  2. 2Feel free to season with any other spices you like.
  3. 3Instead of water, you can use fish stock or seafood broth.
  4. 4I buy the tentacles fresh at the fishmonger, but you can swap them for cuttlefish, squid, baby octopus…
  5. 5The king prawns are peeled because nobody around here likes peeling anything at the table, but you can use unpeeled ones.
