Ingredients
For the buns
- 350gr strong spelt flour
- 175ml lukewarm water
- 1 egg
- 45ml extra virgin olive oil
- 7gr active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
For the burger
- 2 turkey burger patties
- 2 cheese slices
- Homemade romesco sauce
- Fresh spinach
- 1 tomato
Step by step
Method
- 1In a bowl, mix all the bun ingredients until you get a workable dough.
- 2Transfer to a work surface and knead for 5min.
- 3Shape into a ball, place in a large bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rest for 30min.
- 4Once the dough has doubled in size, knead it again and divide into portions, shaping them into small buns.
- 5Place on a tray and cover again to let them rise once more.
- 6When they have doubled in size, they're ready to cook.
- 7Place a couple of dough balls into a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat, cover with a lid, and cook for 5min before flipping them over. I topped them with a little cheese once cooked.
- 8Repeat the process until you've cooked all the dough.
- 9Next, knead the two turkey patties together into a ball to create a single, thicker burger patty.
- 10Cook in the same skillet as before, also covering with the lid so it cooks through nicely on the inside.
- 11Once cooked through, place the cheese slices on top, cover, and turn off the heat so it melts thoroughly.
- 12Slice open the bun, fill with the remaining ingredients, and assemble your burger.
- 13All done! Now we can sit down and enjoy our TURKEY CHEESEBURGER + NO-OVEN BUNS
