Be the first to rate it!

Today we're preparing broad beans with jamón, one of those quick dishes that saves lunch using just a handful of ingredients and delivering so much flavor. With jarred baby broad beans, cured jamón de Jabugo, and well-sautéed sweet onion, you get an authentic homemade meal without any fuss. We love finishing it off with a pinch of oregano and enjoying it freshly cooked.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you'll need

  • 1 jar preserved baby broad beans (habas)
  • Water
  • Diced cured jamón de Jabugo
  • 1 large white onion
  • Pinch of pink Himalayan salt
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Dried oregano

Step by step

Method

  1. 1Finely dice the onion and cook it gently in a skillet with a drizzle of olive oil until soft and translucent.
  2. 2Meanwhile, place the broad beans in a colander and rinse them thoroughly under cold running water.
  3. 3Add a pinch of salt to the softened onion, then stir in the drained broad beans and the diced jamón.
  4. 4Add just enough water to barely cover (about a finger's width), pop the lid on, and simmer over low heat until the liquid has almost completely reduced.
  5. 5Sprinkle with oregano, give it a good stir, and take the pan off the heat.
  6. 6All done! Our BROAD BEANS WITH JAMÓN are ready to serve and enjoy.
