Butifarra Sausage and Turkey Fideuá

Rice & pasta
Be the first to rate it!

This fideuá with butifarra sausage and turkey is one of those meals I love making to share with family or friends. It uses number 4 fideo noodles, onion, garlic, homemade tomato sauce, and vegetable or meat broth. The butifarra sausage brings loads of flavor, and the diced turkey makes it a complete, hearty dish. These quantities serve five people and it's ready in 45 minutes.

To make sure these noodles turn out just right, I keep the heat on medium-low so the broth doesn't boil off too quickly during cooking. If you prefer a drier fideuá, you can make it in a paella pan. It's a straightforward recipe to bring to the table and share with zero fuss.

If you love dishes meant for sharing, I recommend my Fideuá with chicken, pumpkin, and mushrooms and my Rice with turkey and green beans.

Tips and tricks

Tips and tricks for making butifarra and turkey fideuá

Keep the heat at medium-low so the broth doesn't evaporate too quickly.

You can cook it in a paella pan if you like a drier, crisper fideuá.

If you can't find butifarra, use plenty of good-quality fresh pork sausages so they give the dish plenty of rich flavor.

Frequently asked questions

What can I use if I don't have butifarra?

You can substitute it with fresh pork sausages. Use a generous amount so they release plenty of flavor into the noodles.

How can I get the fideuá to turn out drier?

Cook it in a wide paella pan, where the broth is spread out more thinly. Keep the heat on medium-low to prevent the liquid from disappearing before the noodles are tender.

How do I store and reheat leftover fideuá?

Store it in an airtight container in the fridge within two hours of cooking and eat it within one or two days. To reheat, add a small splash of broth if it seems dry and heat the portion thoroughly.
