Today we're making a creamy, flavor-packed spinach hummus with cooked chickpeas and that touch of tahini we love so much. It's ready in just a few minutes and, with a splash of ice-cold water while blending, we get an ultra-smooth texture perfect for dipping crudités, spreading on toast, or pairing with our favorite dishes.

Ingredients

These are the ingredients you need

  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 jar cooked chickpeas 600g
  • 1 handful fresh spinach
  • Drizzle of extra virgin olive oil (optional)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Ice-cold water

Step by step

Method

  1. 1Blend all the ingredients until you get a smooth cream (you can add a bit of water if you want a thinner texture).

Tips and notes

  1. 1If you can, peel the chickpeas so your hummus turns out perfectly smooth.
  2. 2If you cook the chickpeas at home, add a pinch of baking soda to the cooking water so the skins come off on their own.
  3. 3If cooking them at home, simmer for at least 45-60min depending on the type of chickpea (after soaking them overnight).
  4. 4Choose good-quality chickpeas.
  5. 5Add ice-cold water or ice cubes when blending to achieve an incredible texture.
  6. 6Serve at room temperature.
