Ingredients
Here are the ingredients you need for this recipe
- Minced chicken breast (Halal)
- Minced beef (Halal)
- Arugula
- Lamb's lettuce
- Goat cheese log
- Ras El Hanout spices
- 100% whole wheat tortilla
Step by step
Method
- 1First, we'll make our 100% whole wheat tortilla, rolling it out nice and thin and large enough to wrap our dürüm.
- 2Now we'll cook the meat on the stove in a deep non-stick pan (I like using a wok) so we don't need any oil and nothing sticks.
- 3Add the spices to taste.
- 4Once the meat is cooked through, we'll assemble our 'fit' dürüm.
- 5Layer on the meat, lamb's lettuce, arugula, and slices of goat cheese.
- 6I didn't add any sauce, but you can drizzle a little 'fit' yogurt sauce if you like.
- 7Fold and roll it up tightly, then toast it on a hot griddle or skillet until the tortilla has nice grill marks.
- 8Done! Our beef and chicken dürüm my way is ready to enjoy.
Notes
- 1Ras El Hanout is a North African spice blend made with black pepper, cumin, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, paprika, ginger, and more…
- 2Feel free to switch up the filling with other ingredients you love.
- 3The meat doesn't have to be Halal; you can pick up whatever you usually buy at your supermarket.
- 4If you prefer Halal meat, you can easily find it at specialty butcher shops.
- 5You can use store-bought tortillas, but remember they won't be 100% whole wheat like these homemade ones.
- 6You can whip up a spicy sauce if yogurt sauce isn't your thing.
