Today we're making a delicious homemade chicken and mushroom pizza, featuring a spelt flour crust that you can knead in a stand mixer or by hand. We love pairing the base with a mix of cheeses and a simple, hearty topping. Let's tie on our aprons and enjoy pizza night together!

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you need

  • 250g strong spelt flour
  • 1 cube fresh yeast
  • 1 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 20ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 150ml warm water

Topping

  • Healthy tomato sauce
  • Goat cheese
  • Low-fat shredded cheese
  • Light fresh mozzarella
  • Mushrooms
  • Onion
  • Ground chicken

Step by step

Method

  1. 1Add all the dough ingredients to your kitchen machine or stand mixer and knead for 6 minutes on speed 3 (if you don't have one, simply knead by hand).
  2. 2Transfer the dough to the counter, dust with a pinch of flour so it doesn't stick, and work it into a smooth ball.
  3. 3Place it onto a sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet and shape it with your hands. I shaped mine to match the baking sheet.
  4. 4Place inside the turned-off oven and let it rise for at least 30 minutes.
  5. 5Once risen, par-bake the crust on its own for about 8-10 minutes.
  6. 6Remove from the oven and spread on your toppings.
  7. 7Bake again for 10-15 minutes at 180ºC, or use the thick crust pizza with steam setting for 16 minutes.
  8. 8All done! Our CHICKEN AND MUSHROOM PIZZA is ready to enjoy.
