Ingredients
Here are the ingredients you need
- 500g Pardina brown lentils
- 1 large tomato
- 1 Italian green pepper
- 1 red onion
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1 head of garlic
- 1 piece of chorizo
- 1 liter of water
- Bay leaf
- Sweet paprika
- Pink salt
- Extra virgin olive oil
Step by step
Process
- 1Peel the 2 potatoes and cut them into chunks.
- 2Clean and chop the vegetables.
- 3Slice the chorizo into rounds.
- 4Put all the ingredients into the pot and season with salt, oil, paprika, and the bay leaf.
- 5Cover with water and let cook over medium-low heat for 30-35 minutes.
- 6Once the cooking time is up, blend the vegetables, discarding the head of garlic and the bay leaf.
- 7Stir the blended vegetables back into the pot.
- 8Now we can sit down and enjoy grandma's lentils with chorizo!
Extras
- 1If the stew needs more water, add it cup by cup without worry.
- 2I don't soak the lentils the night before; I just rinse them thoroughly under cold running water to remove any impurities.
- 3At our house, lentils are a main dish and we eat hearty portions. If you usually have two courses or smaller servings, these amounts can feed 5 people, and if you mix them with rice, up to 6.
