Chickpea nachos

Today I'm making homemade chickpea nachos with chickpea flour, extra virgin olive oil, water, and salt. They're such an easy option to share for weekend snacking or whenever you feel like pairing your favorite dips with something made from scratch. These quantities make four servings and take just 30 minutes from start to finish.

The secret to getting that irresistible crunch is rolling the dough out very thin before baking. I try to keep the thickness as even as possible so they bake uniformly without leaving any soft spots. Let's make a batch for our next get-together!

Frequently asked questions

How do I store chickpea nachos so they stay crunchy?

Let them cool completely before transferring them to an airtight container stored in a dry place. If they lose their crispness over time, pop them in the oven for a few minutes—watching closely so they don't overbrown—and let them cool again.

Are these chickpea nachos gluten-free?

Chickpea flour is naturally gluten-free and the rest of the ingredients contain no gluten either. If you're baking for someone with celiac disease, make sure to use certified gluten-free flour and avoid any cross-contamination on your surfaces and tools.

Can I make the dough without a food processor?

Yes, you can easily stir the ingredients in a mixing bowl and knead the dough by hand until smooth. The key step afterwards is just rolling it out nice and thin with an even thickness.
