Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you need

  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 80g serrano ham
  • Stale bread
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • Salt
  • 1.5L water
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Eggs

Step by step

Method

  1. 1In a pot with olive oil, cook the sliced garlic.
  2. 2When the garlic starts to turn golden, stir in the ham and sauté for a couple of minutes.
  3. 3Next, add the bread sliced into pieces no thicker than 1 cm.
  4. 4Sauté so the bread soaks up all the oil and flavor, then add paprika and salt to taste.
  5. 5Cover with the water and let simmer for 20 minutes over medium-low heat.
  6. 6Once the time is up, crack in a few eggs if you like and let them set gently in the residual heat.
  7. 7And just like that, our GARLIC SOUP (SOPA CASTELLANA) is ready to enjoy.
