Today we're making a chicken and turkey meatball pizza with a fun twist: little bites of homemade dough arranged together in a round baking tin and melted with bubbly cheese on top. We're rolling up our sleeves to make this perfect recipe for sharing, served with a tomato and olive sauce for dipping.

Prep: 90 minCook: 20 minServes: 6

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you need for the dough

  • 480g wheat flour
  • 10g dried baker's yeast
  • 220g lukewarm water
  • 25g extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon pink salt

Here are the ingredients you need for the filling

  • 1 egg
  • 1 and 1/2 packs chicken and turkey meatballs
  • Low-fat cheese
  • Healthy tomato sauce with olives

Step by step

Method

  1. 1Add all the dough ingredients into the kitchen food processor and knead for 6 min at speed 3 (if you don't have a machine, knead by hand).
  2. 2Leave the dough to rise for at least 30 min.
  3. 3Punch down the dough and gently knead it into a smooth ball.
  4. 4Roll out the dough well with a rolling pin and cut out equal-sized mini pizza rounds using a cookie cutter or small ring mold.
  5. 5Remove the dough scraps, knead them together, roll out again, and cut more rounds until you've used up all the dough.
  6. 6Take a mini dough round and wrap it around a meatball, place it in a round cake tin, and repeat the process until the tin is filled (let rise for 30 min).
  7. 7Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle generously with cheese.
  8. 8Bake at 200ºC for about 15-20 min.
  9. 9Serve alongside the tomato sauce in a small bowl for dipping.
  10. 10All done! Our MEATBALL PIZZA is ready to enjoy.
