Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you'll need for this recipe

  • 1 red potato
  • 100g high-protein cheese
  • 1 can bonito tuna in olive oil
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Tomato paste
  • Garlic powder
  • Dried oregano
  • 1 egg

Step by step

Method

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
  2. 2Wash the potato thoroughly and cut it into thin slices using a mandoline.
  3. 3Arrange the potato slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet, overlapping them slightly to form the pizza base.
  4. 4Bake for 5 minutes or until the potato becomes tender.
  5. 5Take it out of the oven and spread with tomato paste, high-protein cheese, oregano, and the drained, flaked bonito tuna.
  6. 6Dust with a little garlic powder and add a few halved cherry tomatoes.
  7. 7Now separate the egg white from the yolk, and pour the egg white right into the center of the pizza.
  8. 8Bake at 180ºC until the cheese is melted and lightly golden on top.
  9. 9At the very last moment, place the yolk in the center, turn off the oven, and let it rest for 5 minutes with the residual heat so it warms gently while staying nice and runny.
  10. 10Done! Our POTATO CRUST PIZZA WITH TUNA AND EGG is ready to enjoy.

Notes

  1. 1I don't peel the potato—just give it a good wash and that's it.
  2. 2The toppings are up to you, but bonito tuna works amazingly well here.
  3. 3If you don't like a runny yolk, just add the whole egg when baking the pizza and you're good to go.
  4. 4If you don't have high-protein cheese, any low-fat melting cheese works well.
  5. 5Be careful with the mandoline! Always use the guard—it will slice fingers in a second!
