Today we're making a homemade Iberian chorizo pizza with dough made from scratch, the kind of pizza you can't wait to share fresh out of the oven. We combine the flavor of Iberian chorizo with an olive tomato sauce and a creamy cheese layer. Let's enjoy the kneading and every single bite!

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients for 4 people

  • 400g strong bread flour
  • 20g fresh yeast
  • 200ml warm water
  • 40ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Spices to taste

Topping

  • Tomato sauce with olives
  • Grated cheese and cream cheese spread
  • Iberian chorizo slices

Step by step

Method

  1. 1Add the yeast to a glass along with the warm water and leave it for 5 minutes to activate.
  2. 2Meanwhile, place the remaining ingredients in a bowl.
  3. 3Add the activated yeast to the bowl and mix everything together well until you have a cohesive dough.
  4. 4Turn out onto the counter and knead thoroughly until you form a smooth ball.
  5. 5Place it back in the bowl (lightly oiled) and cover with a kitchen towel; let it rest in a warm spot until doubled in size.
  6. 6Once doubled, preheat the oven to 250ºC and gently punch down the dough to release the gas.
  7. 7Shape it into a round and transfer onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. 8Spread the tomato sauce over the base.
  9. 9Top with grated cheese.
  10. 10Warm the cream cheese spread for 1 minute in the microwave and drizzle it over the top.
  11. 11Bake for about 12 minutes.
  12. 12Open the oven and lay the slices of Iberian chorizo across the top.
  13. 13Pop it back into the oven for a couple more minutes.
