Today we're making a spelt pizza with tuna, the kind you really feel like sharing on a cozy night in. We make our own dough with spelt flour and top it with canned tuna in spring water, cheese, and vegetables—a delicious combination you can whip up by kneading by hand or using a stand mixer or food processor.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you'll need

  • 250g strong spelt flour
  • 1 cube of fresh yeast 25g
  • 1 tsp pink Himalayan salt
  • 20ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 150ml warm water

Toppings

  • Healthy tomato sauce
  • Shredded low-fat cheese
  • Goat cheese
  • Canned tuna in spring water
  • White onion
  • Cooked sweetcorn

Step by step

Method

  1. 1Add all the dough ingredients to your food processor or stand mixer and knead for 6min on speed 3 (if you don't have one, knead by hand).
  2. 2Transfer the dough to the counter, dust with a pinch of flour so it doesn't stick, and work it into a ball, then shape it into an oblong.
  3. 3Flatten and shape it into a round using your hands.
  4. 4Place it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. 5Place it in the turned-off oven and let it rise for at least 30min.
  6. 6Once the time is up, pre-bake the crust on its own for about 8-10min.
  7. 7Take it out and add your toppings.
  8. 8Bake again for 10-15min at 180ºC, or on the thick-crust pizza steam setting for 16min.
  9. 9All done! Time to enjoy our SPELT PIZZA WITH TUNA.
