Ingredients
Here are the ingredients
- 250g light canned tuna, thoroughly drained
- 4 XL eggs
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
Toppings
- Homemade tomato sauce
- Shredded cheese
- Sliced mushrooms
- Baby spinach
- Frozen king prawns
- Chili extra virgin olive oil
Step by step
Method
- 1Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
- 2Using an immersion blender, blend the well-drained tuna with the eggs and cornstarch until you get a smooth batter.
- 3Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 4Pour the batter onto the paper and shape it into a crust with the back of a spoon.
- 5Bake the crust for 5-8 minutes at 200ºC.
- 6Add your toppings. I used tomato sauce, shredded cheese, mushrooms, and baby spinach.
- 7Bake for about 10 minutes or until the toppings are cooked through and the crust is crisp.
- 8In the final few minutes, add the king prawns, which should be lightly cooked beforehand so they release any excess liquid.
- 9Drizzle with spicy olive oil over your TUNA CRUST PIZZA and serve.
Tips & Tricks
- 1Bake on the bottom rack of the oven so your pizza crust gets extra crisp.
- 2There's no need to turn on the broiler for this recipe.
- 3Don't overload it with toppings so the base stays firm and holds its shape.
- 4Don't add salt to the crust batter; remember canned tuna is already naturally salty.
- 5Let it cool slightly on a wire rack before slicing.
